Huntsville, AL., June 15, 2008 – Chandler/May has been selected to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane as part of the winning team for the Expeditionary Warfare Systems Division and Platform & Launch Systems Division contract, titled “Support Services for Aviation, Air and Missile Defense Systems, Missile Systems, Force Protection and Association Platforms”. This 5-year contract has a total estimated value of up to $49.9 million over the period of performance.
The majority of the work is to be performed in Huntsville, Ala., with other efforts expected in Crane, Ind., and Texarkana, Texas. Prime contractor Kratos selected Chandler/May; a Huntsville based small business, for its Military Systems integration and manufacturing experience as well as its ten year record of proven excellence in engineering, logistic and sustainment efforts in support of Air and Missile Defense systems such as the HAWK and Chaparral.
Chandler/May was awarded this contract as a part of Kratos/Madison Research Team. The Kratos team was chosen along with CAS, Inc. to compete for task orders under this cost-plus-fixed fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract. The work will include engineering, logistics, research and development, and program support for a variety of customer programs and projects to include air and missile defense systems, missile systems, command and control systems, and sensor systems. This contract will provide support services to the Department of Defense; and the governments of Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Turkey under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program.
