Published: 5/15/2008 | Author: Steve May

HUNT VALLEY – 15 May 2008 – Chandler/May, an industry leader in C2 System development, ground control stations and mobile computing has been recognized by AAI Corporation for its continued contribution to the RQ-7B Shadow® 200 tactical unmanned aircraft system (TUAS) program. Chandler/May supplies the ground control shelters (One System®) to AAI for final integration. These shelters are used to fly the Shadow airframe and operate the payload of the RQ-7B Shadow® 200 TUAS.

“During the ceremony, AAI called out Chandler/May and one other company for special recognition related to their excellent performance providing support to critical RESET work during the last year.”

Vice President, Jay Chandler, accepted a plaque of recognition at the 2008 AAI Suppliers Conference. The award is presented to primary suppliers to recognize their role in the ongoing development of the RQ-7B Shadow® 200 program.

It was also announced at the conference that the RQ-7B Shadow® 200 UAS had reached the impressive milestone of over 300,000 hours in flight operation with the U.S. Army. All these flight hours were amassed using a ground control station built by Chandler/May for AAI at their Huntsville, AL. location.

Chandler/May has been partnered with AAI Corporation since 2001 on the Shadow® TUAS program. The company continues to provide ground control and portable ground control stations to AAI for final integration and test. The RQ-7B Shadow® 200 TUAS is widely used in Operation Iraqi Freedom as an intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance asset by the U.S. Army.
