Through our Outsourcing Partner program, we have literally designed, built and delivered over a thousand VME based systems for mission critical applications, ranging from building command and control infrastructure and tactical military applications to data acquisition, simulation, training systems for the industrial markets.

Versatile Submarine
Test Station

The Sim/Stim system is designed and built for Electric Boat and is a versatile Test-Bed that is software and hardware reconfigurable. The system is designed to test various pieces of tactical and in-development equipment on both the SSBN and SSGN submarines.

The system is VME based and has a VMIC single-board Pentium as the controller. The Test Station uses Labview software from National Instruments to control and monitor 384 digital I/O points, 89 analog I/O signals and 16 serial I/O channels. Chandler/May, Inc. has relationships with over twenty key VME vendors.

Chandler/May procured and integrated VME I/O boards, software and computer peripherals from different sources, including MUPAC, Maxtor, GE Embedded, Microsoft, NEC, Agilent, and Belkin. Chandler/May, Inc. designed and had a custom chassis built to meet Electric Boat’s requirements.

Air Defense Communication Platform uses multiple VME processors, 1553 and various communication links to provide Command and Control (C2) capabilities for marine missile platform.

The Portable Ground Control Station (PGCS) is a VME subset of the shelterized TUAV Ground Control Station. The PGCS version is packaged in ruggedized transit cases to enable easy transport and rapid set up and tear down in the field. The PGCS, in conjunction with the Portable Ground Data Terminal, has full functionality to launch and recover the air vehicle, operate the payload, and receive and display payload data.
