Program Manager - Command and Control Systems

This candidate will lead and grow its design, development, manufacture, and test business within the defense mobile command and control (C2) market. Qualified applicant will have a combination of engineering and program management experience within the US Department of Defense (DoD) or defense industry, including direct experience with development and delivery of C2 computing systems to the tactical military user. Military service and experience within the DoD acquisition community are highly valued. Hands-on experience with the US C2 community, including tactical missile defense, intelligence, or ground maneuver control is required. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the military acquisition system, an understanding of DoD budgeting and program development, and an ability to work with customers to develop next generation systems and programs in response to operational requirements. Security clearance required.

Job Description

The Program Manager, C2 Systems is responsible for leading a team of task managers as they build new programs while executing a portfolio of design and development programs for defense customers. This Program Manager oversees the execution of the programs, including Internal Research and Development, prioritizes effort and ensures adherence to cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements. This responsibility includes working with the engineering department to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing for current and anticipated work, and managing program area investment decisions to best serve the organization's objectives. Reporting to senior management, and working closely with the customer, the Program Manager, C2 Systems will help develop technical and business strategies to grow current programs and expand the company's market presence in the command and control computing industry.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in related field (Defense Command and Control Systems)
  • 5+ years managerial experience, including 3 years as C2 computing systems development task or program manager.
  • Must have experience with the technical management of engineering project teams
    • Must have experience with tasking, schedule/cost generation and tracking, budgets, resource allocation, and requirements management.
    • Demonstrated ability to be successful in achieving objectives with minimum management oversight.
    • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of computing systems technology, VME, Compact PCI, etc.
    • U.S. Citizenship. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
    • University degree in Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical degree.
